Poster design to highlight the decreasing amounts of natural resources on planet earth. Unlike some of my other work that deals with information and statistics to represent figures, this piece is more about sending out a direct and bold message in an attempt to provoke change for the good of the planet.
The statement was first letter pressed in destressed type to convey the sense of decay and instability before being turned into a design to be screen printed. The printing process involved loosley mixing the pigment and the base to allow the ink to marble and take on the aesthetic values of oil. In order to give the content and the message a context, I have used the prints as part of a poster promoting the Lexus RX, a vehicle that is only produced as a hybrid in order to combat the use of non-renewable fuel sources and to lower carbon emissions.
